Eighth District Trooper of the Year: Ryan Rossler
Trooper Ryan Rossler has been selected as the Eighth District Trooper of the Year for his exceptional dedication and commitment. His work transcends mere duty, whether he’s patrolling the streets, investigating crimes, or responding to emergencies. Rossler serves as a canine handler and has emerged as a mentor and leader for other canine teams within MSP and local law enforcement throughout the Upper Peninsula.
He has a proven track record of locating missing persons and successfully detecting narcotics. His calm demeanor and steady leadership are evident in every call he responds to. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Rossler engages actively with his community by coaching middle school girls’ basketball and participating in various local events. His genuine kindness and respect for others have earned him widespread admiration in the community.
Eighth District Motor Carrier Officer of the Year: Bruce Brown
Motor Carrier Officer Bruce Brown has been celebrated as the Eighth District Motor Carrier Officer of the Year for his outstanding performance and leadership. His proactive approach, especially in construction zones, has garnered gratitude from many workers for his relentless efforts to keep them safe.
Brown collaborates with the Michigan Department of Transportation and county road commissions to identify high-risk areas, thereby prioritizing safety enforcement. He also takes an active role in educating trucking companies on adhering to safety regulations and provides mentorship to fellow officers. Outside of his professional duties, he remains an active community figure, leading annual coat drives, coaching youth sports, participating in Special Olympics events, and supporting local fundraisers.
Eighth District Civilian Employee of the Year: Tammy Williamson
Tammy Williamson, serving as the secretary at the St. Ignace post, has been awarded the title of Eighth District Civilian Employee of the Year.
